[Announcement summary]
In Japan, home medical care and long-term care are being promoted with the goal of building a comprehensive community care system as one of the measures for an aging society. In this study, we used the facility standard information of medical departments and pharmacies notified to the local welfare bureau, 91,163 medical institutions (medical departments), and 59,410 pharmacies to investigate the implementation status of home medical care at hospitals / clinics and pharmacies nationwide. We investigated and analyzed regional uneven distribution and factors.
The percentage of medical institutions by prefecture that have delivered the standards for home care support clinics, home care support hospitals, home care record additions, and home care back-up support hospitals is 10.5 to 31.7%. The ratio was 11-47.1%. Spatial analysis showed a tendency of high west and low east, suggesting that the home medical care provision system of insurance medical institutions may differ from region to region. Multivariate analysis was performed using regional factors such as population density, elderly population, number of hospital beds, and facility factors such as pharmacy function.
