[Announcement summary]
In drug development, there is always an urgent need to establish a synthetic pathway for APIs and optimize reaction conditions. Therefore, it is ideal to surely finish with less examination. However, although these are being examined in consideration of the use of batch synthesis methods that are currently widely used in manufacturing, many do not obtain theoretical results, and detailed tuning is required for reaction conditions. Therefore, it takes a lot of time to study. On the other hand, the flow reaction is a method that has been studied by many research institutes in recent years and is rapidly developing because it can handle reactions that are difficult to handle by the batch method. However, since the flow reaction has unique conditions such as flow velocity and tube diameter that are not found in the batch method in addition to the usual chemical reaction conditions, the number of items to be examined often increases. Taking these into consideration, we were aware of the number of experiments that could be performed, and used a custom plan as a study method that can be performed in the field at present, and optimized the flow reaction conditions. We will introduce that it is a useful method from the viewpoint of obtaining multiple solutions according to the situation as process production.
[Presenter Profile]
Joined Kyorin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in 2006. Since 2012, he will be in charge of the development and synthesis department to which he currently belongs. From around this time, he became interested in statistical methods, learned DoE methods, and introduced them within the department. He introduced JMP a few years ago and JMP Pro last year, and is conducting process chemistry research using statistical methods.
