[Announcement summary]
You may try to forcefully solve a difficult problem using a brute force algorithm on a high-performance computer. A difficult problem is finding the right design area (design space), for example. That is, you may find a rectangular region of the factor whose response variables are within specification limits or whose response variables satisfy complex nonlinear constraints.
Another difficult problem is hierarchical cluster analysis of large-scale data in genomic research. Hierarchical cluster analysis for large amounts of data was computationally time consuming. In these two examples, the calculation time can be reduced by combining with a delicate and careful method, instead of forcibly solving with a brute force algorithm.
* The JMP functions introduced in this lecture will be added in future version upgrades.
