[Announcement summary]
A role model (RM) is a person who serves as a model for specific actions and ways of thinking. In the 6-year pharmacist curriculum, 2.5 months of practical training is required at each hospital and pharmacy. In this analysis, it was clarified that whether or not the trainees were able to encounter RM at each practical training site had an effect on their clinical practical ability (hereinafter referred to as practical ability).
The analysis was conducted by 1) clustering the student's encounter with RM, and 2) ANCOVA to clarify the relationship between the amount of change in practical ability before and after the training and the cluster. As a result, the more students who were able to encounter RM at the training destinations of hospitals and pharmacies, the better their practical abilities were. Encounter with RM at the training site has important implications for fostering the practical skills of trainees.
