[Announcement summary]
Although no engineer doubts the effectiveness of the experimental design, not everyone in Japan's industrial field is implementing it. Partly because the predecessor translated the "design" of the Design of Experiments into a plan, only the technical side of the experimental plan was emphasized and understood as if it were a magical method.
Determining the appearance of cars and clothes is not the only design, but the essence of it is problem solving. In recent years, the fact that design thinking has become widely known has led to an increase in the number of people who understand the difference between career planning and career design, for example. If so, now is the time to rethink the experimental design as a problem-solving.
If problem solving through experiments is an experimental plan, it is not necessary for only a part of the engineers involved in product development to carry it out. The power of the experimental design can be demonstrated only when all the parties with problems participate.
However, upstream and downstream of the development department, that is, the department close to the planning department and users, may be wondering where to start without familiarity and experience. Therefore, in this presentation, I would like to introduce some hints for experimental design using demo examples.
