Today is Veterans Day (also known as Armistice Day).
Armistice Day is memorialized on the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the year in many countries worldwide, commemorating the anniversary of the armistice which marked the end of the First World War in 1918.
In the United States, this annual federal holiday honors people who served in the United States Armed Forces. The US Congress expanded Armistice Day celebrations to include other wars in which US veterans have fought, officially recognizing all veterans who have served honorably in US Armed Forces.
JMP Senior Enterprise Architect Fiona Kelly is a US Army combat veteran, and she volunteers for two military veterans’ organizations.
Both organizations work to provide resources and recovery support for veterans who are struggling with the transition to civilian life or recovering from post-traumatic stress disorder and its symptoms, which often include substance abuse, addiction, homelessness and, tragically, suicide.
Thank you for your service, Fiona (@fiona_kelly).

Are you a veteran? We’d love to hear from other veterans who have served any country in the world.
