The attached PDF shows the most recent AEM site structure diagram. It has last been modified for 2022 and includes both the MSM rollout structure and the TMS (translation memory software... i.e. Smartling) structure.
Our site structure has certainly evolved over time. The original site structure in AEM included individual sites in English for the US (en_us), UK (en_gb), Belgium (en_be), Denmark (en_dk) and the Netherlands (en_nl). There were originally three localized sites in German that included Germany (de_de), Austria (de_at) and Switzerland (de_ch). Also included were localized sites for France (fr_fr), Italy (it_it), China (Simplified Chinese) (zh_cn) and Japan (ja_jp).
A couple of early changes were to stand up a full site for Korea (ko_kr) and also to change the Swiss site from German to English (de_ch > en_ch). In addition we also stood up two sites for Canada, one in English (en_ca) and a second in French (fr_ca).
In 2019, we expanded to include fully localized sites in Colombian Spanish (i.e. "international Spanish") for Argentina (es_ar), Chile (es_cl), Colombia (es_co), Spain (es_es), Mexico (es_mx) and Peru (es_pe). Also in 2019, we stood up a fully translated site in Brazilian Portuguese for Brazil (pt_br).
In 2021, we expanded the last of our "microsites" by standing up a fully localized site in Traditional Chinese for Taiwan (zh_tw). And we are currently standing up four new English sites for Iceland (en_is), Finland (en_fi), Norway (en_no), and Sweden (en_se). We hope to have these up and running by 2022.
