"Apply" or "OK" ?! How to close formula editor...Hi all,
a customer asked me when they should use "Apply" instead of "OK" when creating formula columns. From what I had seen (and what JMP help writes), both should make the formula work, with the difference that "OK" will also close the dialogue.
Now the strange behavior they see is that without clicking "Apply" before clicking "OK", the formula will not work.
Has anybody seen this before? Any explanation, solution?
Thanks,
Florian
Re: "Apply" or "OK" ?! How to close formula editor...The Apply button does just that, it applies or runs the formula without closing the editor. The OK button closes the editor and then commits the formula. It sounds like there is an error in the formula. I doubt it is a matter of clicking the OK versus clicking the Apply button first.
Re: "Apply" or "OK" ?! How to close formula editor... I agree with @markbailey.
If the user can't see any error and the problem persists. Please ask them to contact Tech Support (support@jmp.com) to help investigate.
