through use JMP Quickly generate statistical reports - Tabulate Basic application of 〉In this article, you may have a general idea of how to generate a table that meets the expected format, but in practical applications, there are still some details that need to be adjusted, such as how to store the table, set the decimal place of the table, etc. This article will continue to introduce Tabulate More functions in the module include how to optimize the table according to the research needs and set the table; how to graphical the table to make the data easy to understand; and how to store the table.
In the example of this article, we still use the following sample data (Figure 1) , and the generated result table (Fig. 2) Explain.

figure 2 Tabular form of data generation
Function one: in Tabulate Set the decimal point format
From (Figure 2) As can be seen in the table, the results in the generated table retain multi-digit decimals, but when we publish articles, we usually only need to retain twenty three One digit is enough, that is to say, we need to set the decimal point uniformly. The setting of the decimal point can be modified through the change format interface in the lower left corner (Figure 3) .

image 3 Change table formatting options
Click (Figure 3) After changing the format of , it will appear (Fig. 4) interface shown.

Figure 4 change the number of decimal places
in (Figure 4) In the interface, check the use of the same decimal format, and it will appear (Fig. 5) interface.

Figure 5 Data presentation format options
There are 3 In addition to "fixed decimal places", there are two options "best" and "percentage". As the name implies, "fixed decimal places" means that we specify the number of decimal places ourselves; According to the actual situation of the indicator, the best number of display bits is displayed; "percentage" is displayed in the form of a percentage.
In this article, we want these indicators to display 2 Bit decimals, so choose a fixed decimal point and fill in the decimal point 2 , which modifies all statistics to preserve 2 decimal place, see the result (Fig. 6) .

Figure 6 reserve 2 Table of decimal places
Function 2: Change the preset statistics option
(image 3) In addition to "Change Format", you can see that there is a "Default Statistics" on it, which is very useful. Maybe you still remember the last article mentioned that continuous variables (such as BMI) When dragging to the table, the default is to sum. However, in most practical applications, what you probably want is the mean and standard deviation. In this case, it can be modified through "Default Statistics". After clicking this button, it will appear (Fig. 7) The screen shown:

Figure 7 Default statistics interface
Before adjustment, the default is N and sum, corresponding to the initial statistics of categorical variables and continuous variables, and now we check the mean and standard deviation (Fig. 7) , after adjustment, drag the continuous variable into the table, and the mean and standard deviation can be displayed directly, isn't it more convenient?
Function 3: Display missing ratio and total
In many studies, variables that may be collected will be missing.
By default, JMP Tables are not displayed missing. But sometimes when you publish an article, the reviewer may ask you to list the missing ratio in the table at the same time. JMP In fact, it is very simple, just check it (Figure 3) "Include missing values of the grouping columns" in , and the number of missing cases will be displayed at this time.
In addition, there is another situation: for grouping variables, in addition to displaying statistics (mean, standard deviation, etc.) shows the age of smokers and non-smokers, etc. 3 variable, if you also want to display the mean of variables such as the age of all people, this can be done by checking (Figure 3) "Add Aggregate Statistics" in . When you check this option, you will find that there is an additional column behind the grouping variable, which shows the statistics of all people who are not grouped.
Function 4: Graphical form
JMP The basic feature is that it can visually display statistics or research results in graphics. Tabulate This feature is no exception.
in Tabulate Under the menu bar, click the red triangle to check "Show Chart", so that your table can be presented in a graphical way, and the value and statistics can be displayed more intuitively (Fig. 8) .

Figure 8 Show Chart Options
The result is as (Figure 9) shown.

Figure 9 Display tabular statistics graphically
As you can see, the horizontal bar chart shows the size of the respective values. Through graphical presentation, we can more intuitively feel the difference between the values.
Function 5: Export your statistical table
Functions 1 to 4 mainly explain how to adjust Tabulate Details, how to store the form after making the form?
(1) Open "File" → select "Save As" → choose" rtf "Format
You can use word directly Open, and after opening, it will directly give the form format, which is very convenient and fast, such as (Fig. 10) .

Figure 10
(2) Click Tabulate "Red triangle" on the left→ Click "Create Data Sheet"
Then the statistical results can be directly generated into JMP data table, and save as Excel , word and other formats, such as (Fig. 11) .

The above is about Tabulate in this issue For further exploration of functions, as long as you are good at exploring and digging, you will find that using JMP It's as simple and fun as building blocks. download JMP16 Take a closer look at hands-on.
