Through < use JMP Quickly generate statistical reports -Tabulate Basic application 〉In this article, you may have a rough idea of how to generate a table that meets the expected format, but in practical applications, there are still some details about the table that need to be adjusted, such as how to save the table and set the decimal place of the table. This article will continue to introduce Tabulate More functions in the module include how to optimize the table according to the research needs, how to set the table; how to graph the table to make the data simple and easy to understand; and how to store the table.
In the example of this article, we still use the following sample data (Figure 1) , And the resulting table of results (figure 2) To explain.

figure 1 Information used in this article

figure 2 Form of data generation
Function one: in Tabulate Set decimal point format
From (Picture 2) As you can see in the generated table, the result in the generated table retains multiple decimal places, but when we publish an article, we usually only need to retain twenty three Digits are enough, that is, we need to set the decimal point uniformly. The setting of the decimal point can be modified through the change format interface in the lower left corner (Figure 3) .

image 3 Change table format options
Click (Picture 3) After changing the format, it will appear (Figure 4) The interface shown.

Figure 4 Change the number of decimal places
In (picture 4) In the interface, check Use the same decimal format, and it will appear (Figure 5) Interface.

Figure 5 Data display format options
Here are 3 There are two options, in addition to "fixed decimal places", there are two options "best" and "percentage". "Fixed decimal places" as the name implies, we specify the number of decimal places ourselves; "best" is the software According to the actual situation of the indicator, the best display bit number is displayed; the "percentage" is displayed in the form of a percentage.
In this article, we want these indicators to show 2 Digit decimal, so choose a fixed decimal point, fill in the decimal point 2 , So that all statistics can be modified to retain 2 Decimal places, see the result (figure 6) .

Function 2: Change the preset statistics options
(image 3) In addition to "change format", you can see that there is a "default statistic" above it, which is very useful. You may remember that the previous article mentioned that continuous variables (such as BMI) When dragging to the table, the default is to sum. However, in most practical applications, what you may want is the mean and standard deviation. In this case, you can modify it through the "default statistics". After clicking the button, (Figure 7) Shown screen:

Figure 7 Default statistics interface
Before adjustment, the default is N And the sum, respectively corresponding to the initial statistics of categorical variables and continuous variables, and now we select the mean and standard deviation (Figure 7) After the adjustment, drag the continuous variable into the table to directly display the mean and standard deviation. Isn’t it more convenient?
Function 3: Display the missing proportion and total
In many studies, the variables that may be collected are missing.
By default, JMP The table does not show missing. But sometimes when you publish an article, the reviewer may ask you to also list the missing proportions in the table at the same time. JMP In fact, it’s very simple, just check it (picture 3) "Include missing values in grouping columns" is enough, and the number of missing cases will be displayed at this time.
In addition, there is another situation: for grouping variables, in addition to displaying the statistics of each group (mean, standard deviation, etc.), sometimes you also want to display the statistics that are not grouped as the total at the same time, such as (Figure 6) Shows the age of smokers and non-smokers, etc. 3 If you want to display the mean value of all the variables such as age, you can check it (figure 3) "Add aggregate statistics" to achieve. When you check this option, you will find that there is an extra column after the grouping variable, which shows the statistics of all people who are not grouped.
Function 4: Graphicalize the table
JMP The basic feature of is that it can visually display statistics or research results in graphs. Tabulate This feature is no exception.
In Tabulate At the bottom of the menu bar, click the red triangle to check "Display Chart", so that your table will be presented graphically, and the values and statistics can be displayed more intuitively (Figure 8) .

Figure 8 Show chart options
The result is as (Figure 9) Shown.

Picture 9 Display tabular statistics in graphical form
As you can see, the bar graph shows the size of each value. Through the graphical presentation, we can more intuitively feel the difference between the values.
Function 5: Export your statistical table
Functions 1 to 4 mainly explain how to adjust Tabulate Details, then how to save the form after the form is completed?
(1) Open "File" → select "Save As" → choose" rtf "Format
You can use word directly Open, and the table format is given directly after opening, which is very convenient and quick, such as (Figure 10) .

Picture 10
(2) Click Tabulate The "red triangle" on the left → Click "Create Data Sheet"
Then the statistical results can be directly generated into JMP Data sheet and save it as Excel , Word And other formats, such as (Figure 11) .

The above is about Tabulate in this issue Further exploration of functions, as long as you are good at exploring and digging, you will find use JMP It's as simple and fun as building blocks. download JMP16 Take a closer look at the hands-on operation.
