Authoring Blog Articles
There are 3 roles in the new blog workflow: Author, Editor, and Publisher
This video describes the workflow from the point of view of the author.
To create and edit blog articles as an author,
- First, Sign in to the Community
- Once you are signed in, Click the JMP Blogs link
- Next, Choose the blog you want to author in - JMPer Cable or JMP Blog.
- Then Click New Blog Post under the Blog Dashboard
- Enter content in the appropriate fields – please note that after the Article Subject section, there is an Article Teaser section, which will be what shows on the blog tile cards, and a Body section, which is of course the body of the article. A common mistake for new authors is to post the body in the teaser section, leaving the actual body text blank, which can result in confusion when publishing the article. So don’t do that.
- Now that we’ve got the title, teaser, and body sorted, you can Click Save Draft
- Now your draft is saved -- but it is not yet in queue for review
- Note that the State on the right is now Draft
To edit, if you’re not already in the editing section (like we are now) navigate to the blog dashboard by clicking Blogs, the blog your article is in, and then View all Drafts.
Select the draft you want to edit by clicking on the title
On the next screen, click edit, and make your changes.
You can save as draft or, in this case, we’ll Submit for Review.
Note that the state on the right is now Awaiting Review.
If you change your mind and want to make more edits, select the Recall button to change the state back to Draft and make further edits.
To View the article’s History, click View History on the far right.
Please note that if the editor requests edits, the author will receive an email.
And that’s how to create, edit, and submit blog articles for review.
