Support PLS Discriminant Analysis- PLS Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) fits a PLS regression with a categorical response
- From the categorical response, dummy Y- variables are created
- PLS-DA is then run as if Y is continuous (which surprisingly works well in practice)
- Advantage of this method classification method (compared to GLM or DA)
- Handles correlated factors
- Handles missing data
- Can model more factors than observations (wide and short data tables)
- Almost no assumptions
