“It really was a spectacular first half of the year for the EMEA region…and that’s no accident or coincidence,” said Todd Hoffman (@ToddHoffman), Senior Director of EMEA Sales and Marketing at the region’s H2 kickoff. “It’s the result of a lot of hard work that took place last year in the face of much adversity…this team did what it took to really keep our business going, focusing on our customers and focusing on one another.
“By the end of August we got to 98% of what we did all of last year, which is really quite remarkable.”
The EMEA region took time this week to celebrate that success through connection, information and sharing.

Lightning Talks
Customer Care: Gail Massari (@gail_massari) shared action taken based on feedback from the Mastering JMP committee, reducing the webinars to 30 minutes and continuing to provide attendees with practice files to get their hands on JMP. We’ll see new developer tutorials at upcoming Discoveries and if you have ideas for 2022 JMP Days, Kathy Walker (@kathy_walker) welcomes them.

Product Management: Sara Doudt (@saradoudt) described significant progress toward addressing industry-specific challenges, moving to value-benefit conversations, and aligning sales training, messaging and web content. If you haven’t seen it, check out the JMP for Org page, a great (fully translated) resource for sales and JMP champions. And stay tuned for the Analytics Advocate Guide coming soon.
“What stood out for me there was this Advocate Guide,” European Sales Director Adrian Turner (@adrianturner) summarized. “How good is it going to be when you get a lead as a salesperson? There's someone who's downloaded that, that's going to be someone that you want to speak to and that's going to be a great thing.”
Customer Reference: Meg Eberle (@Meg_Eberle) presented a host of customer resources and why they are so effective for sales. You can find her up-to-date list of projects in Confluence.
Regional Teams: Field Marketing and Customer Care
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with this team [field marketing and customer care] this year, and I have to say I’m quite impressed,” said Todd. “They are very dedicated to our success, very talented in their marketing knowledge and I’ve learned quite a bit.”
Adrian echoed the sentiment. “EMEA marketing rocks. What the whole team are doing – Julie (@julie_stone), Nina (@nina_chan), Carla (@carla_paquet1), Maria (@maria_astals) – is breaking new ground and leading the way in many areas of the different marketing activities that we do and [present to] our customers and benefit the salespeople.”
The team covered:
- Upcoming events in Q4 with a DOE / life science focus.
- Follow-up strategies for people who register for events.
- An update on GDPR and successful opt-in efforts.
- The benefits of social selling with soundbites from sales.
