Histogram in Distribution Platform does not auto rescale after hide/exclude

Question

A customer asked why the histograms generated in the Distribution Platform don't automatically rescale after data is hidden/excluded.  Graph Builder auto-rescales, but not histograms from Distributions.

Example:  Data column contains 1,2,3,4,5,50.  Analyze/Distribution, specify column, generate histogram.  Clearly there is an outlier (50).  Right-click on that data point and hide/exclude.  Point disappears, but histogram does not rescale.  Clicking on Distribution hotspot/Redo/Automatic Recalc does refresh the graph, but only after-the-fact.  Turning Auto Recalc on and then doing hide/exclude does not result in a rescaled graph.

Am I missing something?  Is this a bug, or working as designed?

Thank you Mike!  That did the trick.  As Nate pointed out in a subsequent append, Automatic Recalc from the hotspot doesn't seem to be working properly on Windows JMP.  It does work properly via setting preferences.  My customer will be pleased!

That sounds like a bug.

I personally have the preference for the platform set on auto recalc.  Just checked now and it behaves as expected on a mac.

Did you look in the preferences?  It’s under platforms > Distribution in the last row of options and is off by default.
