“All of the reference points for plant errors and product development were recorded in what [Oliver Pigbern, Synthomer Sales Coach] called a lithium black book,” says James Barkatullah, EUR Chem T1.
“And in that book, he described one-factor-at-a-time techniques that were recorded from sometimes decades ago, and often he said they were handwritten and then scanned in, and it was difficult to make sense of some of that.
“So, there was no general consensus globally on what to do in certain situations within their development process. The other thing, the other impact that they had were long, costly experiments. And that's some of JMP's sweet spots in terms of what problems that it could solve.”
