the speech topic : New function of JMP16 experimental design and data analysis detection limit
Speech abstract:
The JMP 16 experimental design platform has added a new function to incorporate the detection limit into the column properties, which can be automatically applied during modeling using the JMP Pro generalized regression platform. In this presentation, Laura will demonstrate this new feature and discuss the impact of detection limits on data analysis.
When we are looking for very small amounts of substances, we are often limited by the technology used. There may be a substance that we cannot detect. This is the lower limit of detection, which has a strong guiding role in the detection of low-level substances in critical situations, such as judging the onset of infection over time or correctly identifying a small amount of impurities. Ignoring the detection limit in data analysis will have a serious impact. Basic statistics such as mean and confidence interval will be biased and misleading. Modeling the data with incorrect assumptions based on the detection limit can also lead to incorrect models. Detection limits are widely used in industrial fields, such as pharmaceuticals, chemical manufacturing, analytical chemistry, and diagnostic test design.
