Help you and your class to see how JMP is used in our core industries
The objectives of this exercise are:
- Spend time working with your team and getting to know the people in your JMP Academy class
- Practise finding useful resources and posting articles in InsideJMP
- Create a really useful article to help you and your JMP Academy class find out how JMP is used in our core industries
Team homework task to be completed before 26 July
Each team will create 1 article in the JMP Academy Cycle 7 Library to explain how JMP is used in one of the 4 core JMP industries:
- Team 1: Semiconductor
- Team 2: Chemical
- Team 3: Pharma and Biotech
- Team 4: Consumer Products

How should we do this?
- Have fun and use your creativity.
- Keep the article short and simple so that everybody in the class can quickly read it and understand how JMP is used by that industry.
- You decide how you will divide up the work between your team. For example, each person could pick one resource to summarise.
- We know that collaborating across different time zones and languages is really hard - it is important that we find ways to do this.
- Talk to your colleagues. Talk to colleagues that you work with outside of JMP Academy. Talk to people in JMP that have previously worked in the industry. Talk to people in JMP that have worked a lot with customers in the industry.
- Experiment with what is possible in InsideJMP articles. You can post images, videos, even interactive JMP Public reports.
What could the article include?
- What does the industry produce and why is it important?
- Examples of companies in the industry that use JMP
- What people or job roles in that industry would use JMP?
- What scientific or engineering challenges do they have that they can solve with JMP?
- Why is JMP such a good solution for them?
- Customer stories and quotes
- Sales win stories
- Relevant demo resources, maybe even a quick video demo of a key JMP feature for the industry
- Who you talked to
- Links to the resources that you used
Do you have an example?
Yes. I created this article about how JMP is used in poultry production. This is NOT a core JMP industry but it is one that I know about from working with some of our customers. I am sure that your articles will be much more interesting and useful.
