Minitab and SPSS are two of a dozen or so top competitors to JMP. To help Sales better position JMP as the vendor of choice - specifically when stacked up against these software packages - we've created two white papers: Moving from SPSS to JMP: A Transition Guide (2021) and Moving from Minitab to JMP: A Transition Guide (2021).
Moving from SPSS to JMP was written by Dr. Josh Lambert of the University of Cincinnati. It's an update of a 2011 paper of the same name, written by Dr. Jason Brinkley. Though some of the same topics are covered, this version goes into greater detail, covers several new areas and discusses features and functionality from the latest versions of SPSS and JMP, SPSS Version 27 and JMP 16.
Moving from Minitab to JMP was written by JMP's own Kevin Potcner. It's an update of a 2015 paper from Dr. Jason Brinkley. In the white paper Kevin explores the differences between the two packages and illustrates how easy it is for experienced Minitab users to move over to JMP. Focus is on the user interface, how tools are accessed, how analyses are performed, and the general workflow that a user follows to analyze data.
In addition to using the white paper to assist with sales efforts, we’re asking JMP sales staff, and everyone at JMP, to help us get the word out that these paper is now available. Both assets are available as gated assets on jmp.com and ungated assets in the JMP Community.
