Julian can't sit still. As the manager of the Strategic Initiatives & Analytics group, he is exposed to quite a bit of marketing strategy which isn't his background. Rather than dismissing any ownership over this part of our team, Julian has immersed himself in learning about digital marketing by attending virtual summits/webinars, reading case studies from different companies, and asking experts in our division tons of questions. Julian's curiosity is infectious, and it is one of the many reasons that I admire him as a manager.
Julian respects every single person he works with down to our interns. He wants to make sure that they have insight into why we're doing specific things or why he's thinking about something a certain way. To achieve this, Julian is very transparent in his communications with the team and in turn, we trust him. He is always accessible and willing to talk about anything - even if it isn't work related. I admire how reachable he is even in a virtual world.
Every single week, Julian checks in with our team as a whole and its members individually to assess our current projects, potential opportunities, and overall workload. He is able to direct us in a way that everything gets done in a timely manner and nothing slips through the cracks. In addition to managing our team's responsibilities, Julian is also a huge advocate for JMP software. He is not only active in development meetings, but also provides our developers with invaluable feedback regarding the product so our customers can have the best experience. Julian is intrinsically motivated and without him, JMP would not be where it is today.
Julian is probably one of the most well-known people within the JMP division due to his passion for the software. When we first locked down last spring, Julian created, wrote, hosted and managed JMP On Air - an online variety show that ran 3 times per week showcasing JMP customers, employees, and enthusiasts. The energy Julian brought to this program was awe inspiring. Through his work, he was able to connect not only to our customers at the time, but also was able to connect our employees to each other in such an uncertain and scary time. This was definitely one of the highlights of 2020 and I give Julian's passion 100% of the credit.
Congratulations Julian!
