Action recorder questionsHi all,
I'd say the thing my JMP users are most excited about in JMP16 is the enhanced log, so I have really been trying to show it off as much as possible. I had two questions on the action recorder capabilities.
1) When people want to start using JSL, I often need to show them the :Col<
2) I was showing a client today how to create a script to automate saving an image under a .png format from graph builder or a report to a specific directory. The client was wondering if I manually saved the image once, if the enhanced log would pick it up, so that he can just copy paste the script. I tested this out and it does not seem that the saving is recorded in the enhanced log. So it appears you would still need to write out the JSL yourself as I showed him. Is this true for everyone else?
Best,
Clovis
Re: Action recorder questionsHey there Clovis,
1) There are no point-and-click actions that I know of that extract data values to a list or an associative array, therefore no capture from enhanced log.
2) No, image export is not yet captured. I agree this would be useful! Here's a confluence page where product management is tracking the features requested and covered by enhanced log / action recorder. @mia_stephens , @danielvalente please count this as two votes for image save/export.

Re: Action recorder questionsGot it, thanks! Adding to the list for consideration.
Re: Action recorder questions
The first item would need to start as a utility command, but the developer suggests, that "even if we did have some kind of extract-unique command in the UI, it probably wouldn't align with the JSL they're looking for." It would probably be better to include this as a "JSL Snippet" on the JMP Community (in what is currently called the JSL Cookbook).
