Extracting spec limit values from column propertyHey All,
Anyone know how to get spec limit values from the spec limit column property?
When I use Get Property I get what appears to be a list of properties
From log:
ycol << Get Property("Spec Limits");
{LSL( 55 ), USL( 75 ), Target( 65 ), Show Limits( 0 )}
I need to assign the numeric values of LSL, USL, and Target to variables.
Thanks!
Re: Extracting spec limit values from column propertyHey Jason, try this...
specs = ycol << Get Property ("Spec Limits");
{lo, hi, tar} = evallist({arg(specs[1], 1), arg(specs[2],1), arg(specs[3],1)});
Re: Extracting spec limit values from column propertySuccess! Thanks, Brady!!
Re: Extracting spec limit values from column propertyI would use Brady's solution for the sake of efficiency.
I would use an explicit form based on fundamental list subscripting for the sake of clarity.
specs = ycol << Get Property ("Spec Limits");
lo = specs["LSL"];
hi = specs["USL"];
tar = specs["Target"];Re: Extracting spec limit values from column propertyI would use Mark's method ALL of the time. I did not know you could subscript the way he illustrates. Any performance gains deriving from the the method I showed--if these exist at all--cannot possibly be justified given the obfuscation my method creates (I now know, wholly unnecessarily.)
Cheers,
Brady
Re: Extracting spec limit values from column propertySimple. Thanks, Mark!
Re: Extracting spec limit values from column propertyThat's very cool. What exactly *are* the elements of that specs list??
type(specs[1])
helpfully returns "Name" in the log.
The scripting guide says you can use Mark's quoted subscripting method "when you have assignments or functions in a list", but those appear to be neither.
