Shortly after theNon-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) Policies and Procedures was announced, a message followed that suggested that posting data to the community was a way to ensure the user was sharing non-confidential data.
We've recently seen users attempting to do this in a couple of troublesome ways.
If you want to suggest this avenue to a customer, please instruct them to compose a question and post it to the Discussions board, along with the anonymized data to answer the question.
Posts without context describing the issue or question will be removed as they do not fit the purpose of the Discussions board.
If the customer thinks the data is simply useful for a demonstration (i.e., they don't have question or problem), they can post it to Sample Data but it must have a rich description of the file along with how/why it will be useful.
In short, we can't use the Community as a file sharing service with no context. All posts must have context for the rest of the community.
Thanks!
I wanted to second the thought that the Community should not be user as a surrogate for a file sharing service. And (whatever the purpose of a post), and whether or not it originates inside or outside of JMP, we should always provide, or encourage the provision of, the appropriate context. As @Jeff_Perkinson says, this is what makes the Community useful.
