MediaTek Inc (31 Dec 2020 – HMT T1)
MediaTek, one of the world’s largest global fabless semiconductor company and market leader in chipset technology for smart TVs, voice assistant devices (VAD), Android tablets and more, recently acquired 20 JMP licenses.
Orcas Chen says Chih-Hsiung, the new Technical Manager in the Product & Testing Engineering Division at MediaTek, got the ball rolling. He had used JMP at his previous job and knew its benefits. Orcas says, “Chih-Hsiung arranged the first meeting with his colleagues to explain the basic functions of JMP and encouraged them to download the trial version to learn how to use its features. During the trial period, Chih-Hsiung also prepared several demo cases for us to verify whether or not JMP could be qualified. Our SEs helped prove that JMP could meet MediaTek’s needs.”
After the trial period was over, MediaTek decided to implement 20 JMP licenses to be used in its PT, TE, QA and RD departments. MediaTek’s IT department also began learning JSL, hoping to automatically integrate data and improve the data analysis process. Orcas concludes, “We will arrange customer care activities to find more JMP users in 2021 so that MediaTek can implement more JMP to improve its analytical process.”

Leonardo (07 Jan 2021 – Italy & Middle East)
Leonardo, one of the world’s major players in aerospace, defense and security, recently added six JMP licenses.
Leonardo is a leader in the fields of radar and infrared (IR) sensors, based both on its internal foundries (such as GaAs and GaN microwave integrated circuits) and on fabless approaches.
Leonardo had been using VDD, an old SAS/JMP bundle bought more than 10 years ago that was now obsolete. Massimo Martucci says that Leonardo had been using VDD to design its monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMIC) for radars and to analyze that data. Massimo says, “We demonstrated the improvements in the latest version of JMP, comparing it to VDD. We were able to ensure that existing data and programs would continue to work in the new version. Leonardo plans to continue using JMP for DOE and to analyze and improve the design of its MMIC components.”
