To add and remove Mastering JMP webinars from the multi-registration page, changes need to be made to both the form page AND the confirmation (aka reply) email. Once the changes are complete, BOTH pages will need to get republished at relatively the same time.
Updating the Multi-Registration Page
https://aemauthor.unx.sas.com/editor.html/content/jmpbp/en/events/mastering/register-for-mastering-jmp-webinars.html
The only element that will need to be updated on the Multi-Registration page is the “Checkbox Group – Standard” component in the right column of the form. To update…
- Open up the edit config dialog (wrench icon).
- To remove “Items” select the red “minus” icon.
- To add an “Item” for a new event…
- Select “Add Item” toward bottom of dialog. This will place a new empty item at the bottom of the list.
- Enter the relevant text string for the new event (more on this below*) into the text field of the new item.
- Use green arrows to reorder items (if necessary).
- Click the checkmark to save changes.
*Relevant text string for each event…
- There is a specific format for the text string that gets entered into the Checkbox Group component.
- Example of correct format…
- 7013Z000002DrcdQAC=<span class="webinar-title">Using Geographic Maps</span><span class="date-time">Mar. 19 | 2:00 p.m. ET<span>
- The items that change for each event are the Salesforce ID, the title of the webinar, and the date (notated above in red).
- A Excel spreadsheet has been set up that will programmatically build the text string in the correct format.
- So… hopefully it becomes simply a matter of copying the correct value from the spreadsheet and pasting it into the correct field in the dialog.
Updating the Multi-Registration Confirmation Email
https://aemauthor.unx.sas.com/editor.html/content/jmpbp/en/events/mastering/register-for-mastering-jmp-webinars/reply-email.html
First thing to do is to add/remove the relevant conditions (one for each Salesforce ID) in the “Form Conditional Container (Email)” component. To update…
- Open up the edit config dialog (wrench icon).
- To remove old events, click on the “trash” icon.
- To add a new event…
- Click the “Add” button at the bottom of the dialog. This will place a new empty item at the bottom of the list.
- Copy/paste the relevant Salesforce ID into the new item.
- Items can be reordered by dragging the “arrows” icon in the right column of the dialog (if necessary).
- Click the checkmark to save changes.
- So… for each condition that gets added, the component then adds a section within the component where content can be added specifically for that condition. In this case, the conditions are based on the Salesforce IDs for each event.
Once a new conditional block is in place…
- Copy/paste a horizontal rule from an older event so that it will be at the top of the new block.
- Copy/paste a text component from an older event below the horizontal rule.
- In the text component dialog, update the title, date, zoom link, and add-to-calendar link. See How to Add to Calendar below.
- Title, date and zoom link can be obtained from the Excel spreadsheet
- The add-to-calendar link can be obtained for the individual landing page for that event
- Repeat same steps for other events, as necessary.
How to Add to Calendar
Note from Gail Dec. 2021: The add to calendar link is Text, not an.ics attachment that is taken from the individual Live Webinar page (eg: /content/jmpbp/en/events/live-webinars/mastering-jmp/importing-excel/21-jan-2022/_jcr_content/par/styledcontainer_5b12/par/calendar.ics) and put in text:
Calendar: add-to-calendar
HTML is: <strong>Calendar:</strong> <a href="/content/jmpbp/en/events/live-webinars/mastering-jmp/importing-excel/21-jan-2022/_jcr_content/par/styledcontainer_5b12/par/calendar.ics">add-to-calendar</a></p>
I think that’s the gist.
