2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceUpdate (02Apr2021):
The active site tables found in the Site Data folder are now up-to-date again. However, due to changes to the SAS database where this data is stored, several fields are no longer accessible (NAICS, REPNAME, REPMAIL, lbddate to name a few). Amount fields have been changed slightly as well; please refer to the documentation here. The most recent version of jmp_al_customer that still has the old data fields has been preserved, and is saved out in the jmp_al_customerOLD.jmp table.
Update (39Mar2021):
Access to Invoice data has been restricted after consultation with the Business Operations team. Site data will still be accessible, but updates will be temporarily paused in order to fix issues surrounding the data for France/Italy_MiddleEast. Another update will be provided once it is back up and running.
The 2021 JMP AL Customer data is now ready for access! The data, stored in the GIDB Data folder, can be accessed through this Sharepoint link. An added benefit of using the Sharepoint link is that the folder can be synced to your hard drive, so OneDrive will automatically download the newest version of the data everyday (see the OneDrive Sync section for more information on how to set this up). This serves as an update to the 2020 JMP AL Customer Add-in .
Description:
The data stored in the GIDB Data folder is queried directly from the SAS GIDB database. It can be used to analyze site information on all current JMP annual license customers. This data is updated daily at 8 AM EST. Documentation and data column definitions for the data described below can be found on SIA's Confluence page.
The GIDB Data folder contains 2 folders. These are the data that the folders contain:
Site Data:
- This folder contains site-level data across all territories. This data only includes active sites in GIDB, and serves as an aggregate view of the site data found in Atlas.
- This data is available in 3 different formats:
- JMP table: jmp_al_customer.jmp - Preferred file type!! The Ref4 and Site columns contain direct links to Atlas.
- SAS table: jmp_al_customer.sas7bdat
- CSV file: jmp_al_customer.csv
- Additional documentation with descriptions for the data columns can be found here.
The 3rd folder, Exchange Rates, contains supporting tables with the currency exchange rates used to convert local_amounts to USD. These exchange rates were generated from official SAS tables in the beginning of the year.
- This data is available in 3 different formats:
- JMP table: currencydim_static.jmp
- SAS table: currencydim_static.sas7bdat
- CSV file: currencydim_static.csv
- Additional documentation with descriptions for the data columns can be found here.
OneDrive Sync:
These are the steps to sync this Sharepoint link:
- Click the link. This should open up a Sharepoint link for a folder called GIDB Data.
- Select the "Sync" button on the toolbar. This will bring up a prompt titled "Open Microsoft OneDrive?".
- Select the "Open Microsoft OneDrive" button.
- OneDrive will do the rest, and the folder should show up in your file explorer!
Important Notes:
- This data is updated daily at 8 AM EST.
- The 3 different file formats present in each subfolder of GIDB Data contain the same exact data.
- See the Update (2/24/2021) section for how to filter the data.
Instructions on how to access and use theBuilt-in Interface:
- Open the JMP table from the Sharepoint folder: jmp_al_customer.jmp
- Run the Filter Data table script located on the top left of the table (click the green triangle!)
- This will bring up the Built-In Interface:
- Click either the Territory, Subregion, or Region button. This will open up a scrollable list.
- Select the Territory/Subregion/Region of choice. Use CTRL to select multiple items. (Note: a combination of territory, subregion, and region can be selected if desired).
- Select the Product Group of choice. Use CTRL to select multiple items.
- Select the Get Active Site Data button.
- This will create a new table based on the specified filter!
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceHi @andyzhou and @fiona_kelly - thank you for the follow up.
Fiona, I feel like a got a preview of an upcoming article on the topic.
Hopefully you were able to just block/copy that from what you're preparing. Definitely appreciate that things will be rolled out, just wanted to make certain I understood the current lay of the land. Will look for the articles in the near future!
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceHi, @christianstopp and @andyzhou !
SF Experience Cloud is going to host a number of different capabilities, but its current development is geared toward a customer self-service portal for cases (Phase 1.5) and all software fulfillment (by JMP 17 release) except eCommerce (Personal and Corp subscriptions) -- that is a future phase.
For Customer Intelligence from within JMP, you're in luck, @christianstopp ! JMP First is geared entirely toward a full picture of customer information and assets! You'll be able to see all contracts (with user counts) by customer, and all customers by contract, and assets from either direction, whether they are eCommerce (Corp and Personal Subscription) or Traditionally licensed. This is going to be a highly phased rollout, so we don't just jump into the deep end of the ocean without floaties, however! We'll begin with fulfillment and then regionally deploy JMP-First invoicing capabilities (meaning: no SAS systems involved in any part of the customer sale or life cycle). Training to the region's Sales teams will occur prior to transition of a region to JMP First Architecture. Our eCommerce capabilities will stay exactly the same for now, but soon also be fulfilled through our MyJMP portal experience, as well. During the Transition Period, we'll have customers invoiced through SAS systems (as things are now), and then fulfilled through MyJMP until the region of that customer is prepared and ready for transfer from SAS systems to JMP systems.
Hope that answers your question! Look for an upcoming series of articles from Jessica Marquardt in InsideJMP!
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceHi @christianstopp - Correct, this data does not contain any information about customers who purchased subscriptions. I'm not entirely involved with the setting up of new business systems in SF, but @fiona_kelly might be able to provide an answer for you. From what I understand, SF Experience Cloud will eventually be providing this level of detail.
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceHi @andyzhou - the data available here (well, in Sharepoint, via your efforts described here) is solely GIDB data, so will not contain any information about customers who have purchased Corporate Subscriptions, correct? This is what I see, so just confirming.
If you happen to know, is there a method presently available to identify user counts for accounts combining both GIDB and SF (subscription) data?
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceIt looks like there are some issues with the invoicing database that i'm pulling this data from. I'm working with Business Operations to see what the issue is, and hopefully it will be resolved soon.
Best,
Andy
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceHi Andy,
We have only 3 accounts for France T1 and T2. Could you please check the data?
Many thanks.
Isabelle.

RE: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceAndy,
Sorry, I didn't thoroughly read your explanations.
The link works well.
Thanks,

RE: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceHello Andy,
Can you help?
When I try to use it, I got the message below.

Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceAndy,
Big kudos here for pulling this all together. Our team uses this for both strategic planning (now) and for everyday tactical reference. I like the dialogue box that prompts for territory and products! We are playing around with the data set and will provide additional feedback.
Tim
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceThanks.
I like looking at the Site data too, but see that i have to stack the amount columns to get year and if it was a renewal or new/upgrade. But that is easy for me to scrub and script to make into the Active Company list and when their renewals are.
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in Interface@Chris_Kirchberg
Those are mostly fields that people requested me to include, and there unfortunately isn't the best documentation on the SAS end surrounding those fields. However, I'll take a closer look to see if I can scrounge up some more documentation from the SAS end or through the Business Operations team.
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data w/ Built-in InterfaceThanks Andy,
Do you think we could get more transparency as to what the levels within a column mean? I looked at the confluence page for say something like invoice. Most columns are pretty clear what they are and how things are grouped, but there is a lack of information in the notes for some columns. . For example: line_status. Some of the levels/items make sense (PAID IN FULL for example), but what does the rest mean?
Re: 2021 JMP AL Customer Data - Add-in to Come!Thank you, Andy! #transparency #SIArocks
