Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)I am unable to get my script to work. It is intended to publish 2 control charts to JMP Live to demonstrate CC Warnings. Curious if someone can provide guidance?
Thanks!

Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)Hi Chris,
Members of these types of groups can post to these groups if the admin who created the group gave them permission to do so. The "Can Publish" permission is turned on by default for a new member, so most admins would probably not take action to turn it off.
Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)Thanks Dieter.
I see that I do not have options to create Open, Closed, or Hidden groups ,which makes sense since I am not and admin and only admins can create these groups. Can members of these types of groups post to these groups if admins create them?
Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)Hi Chris,
this is only for personal groups. For them the name of the owner is part of the group name.
The owner's name is not part of open, closed, or hidden groups
Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)I wanted to add to this post regarding JMP Clinical 8 as well. The JMP Clinical specific UI has a group specification option, but you have to type in the list of groups. The group name is not enough (it fails to publish to JMP Live 16). You have to specify the group name and the user name like this for JMP Live 16. This is also seems to be true for using JSL to specify groups in JMP 15 and 16.
"BCGroupA[bc]"
or
"TestGroup3[Chris Kirchberg]"
or for multiple groups
"TestGroup3[Chris Kirchberg]","Test Group 1[Chris Kirchberg]"
Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)This makes sense @Aurora_TiffanyD . Is there any way to modify the parent folder via jsl after the initial publication? Particularly the title or the description?
Edited to Add:
Nevermind! I just found the "Get Folder" entry in the scripting index. Here's an example for changing the Title and description of an existing parent folder:
lc = New JMP Live( Connection( "JMP Public" ) );
jmpliveresult = lc << Get Folder( "WM88CCmjKdJxFYfGzz5vM" );
jmplivefolder = jmpliveresult << As Scriptable();
success = jmplivefolder << Set Description( "New Description");
success = jmplivefolder << Set Title( "New Title");
Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)Here is another example of publishing to a group (note no inclusion of Public):
webreport = New Web Report();
webreport << Add Report(biv, Title("Bivariate by BC"), Description("A test of the new scripting"));
webreport << Add Report(oneway, Title("Oneway by BC"), Description("A test of the new scripting"));
liveresult = lc << Publish(webreport, Groups({"BCGroupA[bc]"}));Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)Hi @wendytseng
You asked for guidance on replacing a folder report. In JMP Live 16.0, you cannot replace an entire folder with one operation. Instead, you need to replace the "child" reports inside the folder one by one.
Why have we made this change?
Before 16.0:
- You could republish an entire folder along with its child posts.
- The new folder could have the same child posts in the same order, the same child posts in a different order, one new child post inserted in the middle, totally different child posts... it was a free-for-all!
- It was not at all clear which "old" child should map to which "new" child.
- Therefore, it was not at all clear how to correctly retain comments & bookmarks that had been made on child posts prior to the republish.
- We had to disallow comments & bookmarks on child posts, since we knew we had no way to keep them safe.
- This made many people sad.
16.0:
- Disallow republish of folders.
- Allow republish of specific child posts.
- In JSL (so you can still automate your republishing)
- In JMP UI
- Because each child post is republished one by one, it's crystal clear how to correctly retain comments & bookmarks.
- We can now allow comments & bookmarks on child posts.
Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)to replace a report you need to do this instead of the publish:
jmpliveresult = JMPLiveCon << Replace( webreport, ID( replaceId ) )
to change the group of a single report or an entire folder you can do this:
report = jmpliveresult << As Scriptable;
report << Share with Groups( groups );
.
Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)Another update.
I am able to publish a single report (not a folder report) to a group in JMP Live. Then use JSL to replace the report in the group.
But I am still stuck with publishing to a group in JMP Live using JSL.
Curious if someone can provide guidance on replacing a folder report as well.
Thanks!
Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)This publishes to the server but not to the group.
Names Default To Here( 1 );
title = "Washers P-Chart Test Report";
jmplive = New JMP Live( Connection( "devlive16" ), Prompt( If Needed ) );
dt = Open( "C:/Users/wetsen/OneDrive - SAS/Demos/JMP Live/Control Chart Warnings/Washers.jmp" );
p_cc = dt << Run Script( "P chart of num defective with warnings" );
np_cc = dt << Run Script( "NP chart of num defective with warnings" );
webrpt = New Web Report();
webrpt << Add Reports( {p_cc,np_cc} );
jmpliveresult = jmplive << Publish( webrpt, Groups( {"Washers Process Monitoring"} | Public(0), Title( "Washers Process Monitoring" ) );
report = jmpliveresult << As Scriptable;Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)Hi Wendy,
You can't "or" in the Public(1) with the Group. You either publish to Groups, or you make it completely public. HTH.

Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)Thanks, @dieter_pisot !
It does publish now but it is not publishing to the group that I am specifying. Do you know if there is an issue with my syntax?
Names Default To Here( 1 );
title = "Washers P-Chart Test Report";
jmplive = New JMP Live( Connection( "devlive16" ), Prompt( If Needed ) );
dt = Open( "C:/Users/wetsen/OneDrive - SAS/Demos/JMP Live/Control Chart Warnings/Washers.jmp" );
p_cc = dt << Run Script( "P chart of num defective with warnings" );
np_cc = dt << Run Script( "NP chart of num defective with warnings" );
webrpt = New Web Report();
webrpt << Add Reports( {p_cc,np_cc} );
jmpliveresult = jmplive << Publish( webrpt, Groups( {"Process Monitoring"} ) | Public( 1 ), Title( "Washers Process Monitoring" ) );
report = jmpliveresult << As Scriptable;
Re: Publishing to JMP Live (devlive16.jmp.com)Hi Wendy,
scripted publishing in JMP 16 has changed quite a bit. First you need to create a JMP Live connection using desktop JMP. Go to File -> Publish -> Manage Connections... and add a new connection. There you have to specify the URL and API Key. Then in your JSL you will use that connection to publish to JMP Live. Use the name you gave the connection in your JSL code. So something like this:
Names Default To Here( 1 );
title = "Washers P-Chart Test Report";
jmplive = New JMP Live( Connection( "devlive16" ), Prompt( If Needed ) );
dt = Open( "C:/Users/wetsen/OneDrive - SAS/Demos/JMP Live/Control Chart Warnings/Washers.jmp" );
p_cc = dt << Run Script( "P chart of num defective with warnings" );
np_cc = dt << Run Script( "NP chart of num defective with warnings" );
webrpt = New Web Report();
webrpt << Add Reports( {p_cc, np_cc} );
jmpliveresult = jmplive << Publish( webrpt );
report = jmpliveresult << As Scriptable;
