Data-driven Zoom polling

Question

I have been collecting a lot of Zoom Polling data, many of us probably are, but so far I have struggled with two things:

* What is the most useful information to gather (what questions)
* How do I leverage this data into actionable goals/next steps/results

I'd like to know what types of questions others are asking, what sort of information we're gathering, and what we are then doing with that information. Initially, I was using polling to engage users and drive the demo along using simple anonymous questions but am realizing more and more that by doing so I'm leaving a lot on the table. I'd love to hear what y'all are doing. Cheers.

Hi Peter,

I recently did a value-based session and did a survey afterwards. Questions (response % in brackets) were:

1. Are you currently using JMP?

- yes (83%)

- no (17 %)

2. What stops you from using Data Analytics?

- lack of knowledge (22 %)

- lack of time (to apply) (44 %)

- lack of time (to learn) (22 %

- I have no application for it (0%)

- Cost of Software (12 %)

3. Does your company already apply data analytics?

- yes (100%)

- no

- not aware

4. What are your tasks that you wish to improve by data analytics? (free text)

- process monitoring, DoE (several), QbD,

5. Do you wish to discuss your specific use cases?

- yes (17 %)

To be fair - only  10 % (6) of participants took the survey so far...

Peter, even though this is on the SE page, I hope you don't mind me offering my Inside Sales perspective.

I work with Alisa on the Carolinas team, and see that she has already responded with the types of questions she asks.  For me, I find the exit poll questions to be particularly helpful as they help guide me in my follow-up responses.  Two of the questions we typically asked in our JMP Discovered sessions were “Which portion of today’s presentation was most helpful for you?” and “Are you interested in learning more about (topic)?”.  Regardless if they said yes or no to the latter question, I followed-up with everyone and was trying to get another call scheduled with the goal of them inviting others from their organization.  The answer to the question about what was most helpful not only helped in subsequent conversations, but it can also help identify what follow-up resources may be helpful to send.  With last year being the first time we introduced polls as part of our customer calls, I’m hoping we can continue to refine the process as we go.

@Peter_Polito  I ask some of those same questions & I may ask their experience with a specific topic, e.g. DOE, but I also may use it as an opportunity to demo content that is most useful for them. For example in JMP Discovered for DOE, I asked the group, What are you most interested in learning about DOEs?
A. How to find the most important factors impacting my process 
B. How to optimize my process 
C. How Mixture DOEs can be created and analyzed in JMP 
D. How to add blocking factors
E. How to include hard to change factors

For post poll questions, I may ask about which parts of the content was most useful for them & will have that on hand for follow up conversations.

I like to use the polls with larger groups because if I have qualified with 1-2 ppl, their ideas may not represent the collective groups'.
