Design Efficiency not available with random blocks?

Hello everybody,

 

In the DOE Guide book, we can read:

"The Design Diagnostics outline does not provide the following statistics when the model includes factors with Changes set to Hard or Very Hard or with Estimability set to If Possible: D Efficiency, G Efficiency, A Efficiency."

 

I am using the Custom Design platform and I do not have such kind of factors in my example. Nevertheless I do not have access to Efficiency. I have the impress that it is because I have introduced random blocks.

Do you have information about that please?

Yes, you are correct. The presence of another random effect besides the error, whether it is for whole plots or random block effects, precludes computing the design efficiencies.
