The number of people who use AEM is controlled by the AEM Admin group. In order to obtain a license, we must provide the following information:
- New or existing user?
- How often the user expects to use AEM?
- The reason (business justification) for the request.
Licenses are only assigned to users who have a specific business need (such as creating event pages) and will use AEM on a regular basis (preferably every week). Most users who are added to AEM are typically new.
In order to request a license, we must complete the AEM Access Request Form.
Just click new item at the top to access the form. This form was created for SAS AEM users, so, there are a lot of fields that don’t apply to JMP.
Complete the top five fields (Name to Reason for Request). The only other field to complete is Other content access. For this we add jmp.com.
You don’t need to worry about any of the region or blueprint sections, because for JMP, those are controlled by the permission groups to which you are assigned.
Once the form is completed, click Save. The requested user will receive a link to begin training. After the user has completed training, passed the exam, and receives a seat, permissions will be assigned.
Regarding Permissions
Permissions groups are managed two different ways. The AEM Admin team controls which sites/pages each group can access. The JMP Web Team manages who goes into each group.
Once a user has been granted a license, JMP Web Team management will determine which group(s) are most appropriate and assign that person accordingly.
Groups are largely based geographically but broken down more according to what each region requires. Some users have permissions for more than one region. Also, the US and EU have multiple groups (e.g., content, events) whereas people in the Japan and China groups have full access to their site.
