Validation data

Hello, 

Im relatively new to JMP and in the classes i took the data was already provided for us 

In my dataset, how do i specify which ones i will use as my validation dataset/ set a validation column?

do i put a "1" in the validation column for those i want as validation?

I opened a data table, and brought up the Make Validation Column platform

     Analyze=>Predictive Modeling=>Make Validation Column

and ran it.

The resulting column resulted in

     0 = Training

     1= Validation

     2= Test

It also applied Value Labels as seen below, so that what is display are the words, Training, Validation and Test rather than 1,2, and 3
