derived tablesIn a project I have loaded a data table. Any time I make changes to that table, like adding a column, I can save the changes so they are persistant between sessions. When I make say a summary table, the table is added to the project. But now when I add a column and do some analysis based on the new column, the new column disappears wnen I close the project. I guess the project just adds lines to a JSL script to rerun the summary table generation when I open the project. But it does not sem to update the derived table with the modifications I make during a working session. Do I have to save the summary table to disk in order to have the changes stick? That would seem to defeat some of the advantages of using a project as a container.
Data TableRe: derived tablesHi @pitakeve ,
I don't use JMP Projects much. The documentation for Projects state:
When you modify a file (for example, a data table or script) inside a project, an asterisk
appears on the tab to indicate that the file is not saved. Select File > Save and save the file to
your computer. Then, select File > Save Project to save the project.
If you create your summary table, and uncheck Link to original table, then make modifications, the tab will have an asterisk reminding you to save that table.
