Building DashboardsHi everyone,
I want to build a dashboard containing graphs from two files with many data points and filters. When I use the drag and drop option, my laptop tends to slow down or worst case crash. It worked one time, but then one graph was not interactive anymore...Do you have tips and tricks for building dashboards?
Thanks,
Anna
Re: Building DashboardsHi Anna,
I do not have a solution for you. However, I would also be interested in what others have to say on this. I have also experienced problems while creating dashboards, and most of the time they are super slow to navigate.
Re: Building DashboardsThe one thing I can recommend, that is not specific to dashboards, is to use the Cols-> Compress selected columns (you will first have to select the columns you’d like to compress). What this does is remove un-used bits from the data table, and can shrink the table and make JMP run faster. For most numbers, we don't need all 64 bits that are allocated to storing that piece of data, so we can get rid of those extra empty storage places.
For Numeric data, you won’t see any difference. For Character data, it will create a list of the items in that column (so adding novel information to the data table would require an extra step for this kind of data) - it's a column property called List Check.
