How to define custom acceptable difference in two sample mean in JMP for hypothesis test using two sample t-test

Hello Community,

I want to check if the difference between two group means are less than or equal to 10.

For question in analysis, any difference group means till 10 is not practically important.

I am using two sample t-test, in JMP 15.2.0

 

How to define custom acceptable difference in two sample mean in JMP 15.2.0.

So, default hypothesis can be changed to, hypothesis test to evaluate difference between two samples is less than or equal to 10.

It sounds like you want to do an equivalence test. You can choose Equivalence Test in Oneway Analysis (under the red triangle menu).  It will prompt you for the practical significant difference you want to use.
