NanoFilm Vacuum Coating (Shanghai) (18 Aug 2020 – East China T1)
NanoFilm, which specializes in advanced materials and nanoproducts, recently added four more JMP licenses.
The first sale to NanoFilm happened in 2019 when it bought five JMP licenses to help manage the high cost of experiments. Before JMP, NanoFilm recorded the result of every experiment in Excel, and the lack of analytic tools meant losing money and time.
Iris Yuan says, “After that initial sale, we showed how using JMP could help NanoFilm resolve multiple issues and demonstrated how to provide quality reports to engineers and customers. In June, we approached their Product Development Team to show how DOE in JMP (including DSD, customized design and traditional DOE) would improve process flow and how to better use Graph Builder. As a result, NanoFilm added four more JMP licenses, and we expect them to add more in the future.”

Symrise AG (10 Jul & 28 Oct 2020 – DACH T1)
Symrise AG, a major producer of flavors and fragrances used in myriad products in Europe, recently added one JMP Pro and five JMP licenses in two separate deals this year.
Jessica Horsch says the upgrades to this existing JMP customer were a result of a variety of activities. “We developed a champion who promoted JMP internally and was willing to participate in external webinars (including Statistically Speaking). We also facilitated use case discussions with potential users, which highlighted the versatility of JMP and JMP Pro. The combination of internal references, demos and great resources, like Mastering JMP, convinced Symrise that adding more licenses was the right decision,” says Jessica.
For JMP Pro, the key selling point was FDE. Jessica says, “Symrise wanted to process spectral and sensor data. Functional Data Explorer and JMP could give them just what they needed. One of the new users of JMP is an R&D director with 40 direct reports. Our JMP champion showed him just how easy it is to use text analysis on the ingredients of sugar-free beverages. The R&D director was intrigued by the key features of data preparation and pre-processing in JMP Pro. After spending three frustrating days with Excel, he saw just how easy, fast and transparent it was to work with JMP, even before applying JMP’s analytics. While his employees are currently working with open source software and the competitor product KNIME, this new user is convinced that things will change as they become more comfortable with JMP.”
