John's JSL Addin - Data Analysis Tools<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Adds multiple platforms for easier data analysis. Just recently added recall buttons and proper name-spaces for all of these.
Here are the options included:
- Remove Empty Columns
- Allows you to set a threshold for keeping columns based on how much of the data is valid vs missing.
- Delta Plot
- Platform tool to take data that has multiple readpoints (like characterization values after various stress points) and generate multiple deltas relative to the first readpoint all at once. Very useful to look at shifts. Doesn't actually plot, but creates a stacked table with all the necessary delta columns.
- Quantile2Cols
- Generates column properties for max and min based on the distribution of the given column. Can also add groupby values to ensure that each group is considered equally and the group with the worst case values is used for a given limit. Allows you to specify the upper and lower quantile points as well as a scale factor.
- CombineCols
- This tool is great if you have multiple columns that all specify the same thing, and all of them have missing values. Running combine cols will allow you to have a single column that will fill with the specified columns together. If data is missing from the first, it will fill with the second. If data from the second is missing, it will fill with the third. And so on.
- ConcatCols
- Takes values for a given column and concatenates both the name of the column and the values together. This feature was made before becoming familiar with JMPs built in Utility->Combine Columns function which is quite similar. This tool has different parameters, just letting you specify the delimiter and the columns you wish to concatenate together. Column name will be something like Colum1_Column2_Column3, and values will be something like value1_value2_value3 for all rows if you had '_' as the delimiter.
- ExportPic2Folder
- This platform is useful for when you have alot of data that you need to plot in a Variablity Chart, but need to then export to pictures with useful names. JMPs existing functionality of exporting to html is similar, but only names the pictures pic001.png,pic002.png etc. This tool instead names the column based on the Y variable. It also condenses the variability report from JMPs existing variability plots looking at just the unique groups. It shows the mean, median, and stddev all on the same line so a single platform tells you a lot about the given variable.
- Generate Stats By Group
- This tool generates a summary table by the given variables and then merges the results for mean, median, stddev, count, nmissing etc back to the original table. It is useful when you need to normalize a single value based on the total number of values in the table.
- Group Cols
- This simple tool just takes a regular expression as input and will group together any columns matching the regex and put them at the top of your table. Great if you have many columns and don't want to manually navigate for each.

Re: John's JSL Addin - Data Analysis Toolsnice. Have you looked into how to add this set of tools to the main Micron add-in installation package? Or at least to the JSL library?
