Mean-Variance Mapping Optimization implementation in JMP

Mean-Variance Mapping Optimization (MVPO) is a optimization technique pioneered primarily for electrical/power transmission and related processes and has since expanded into other fields of research and falls into the family of stochastic optimization. A customer I am working with would like to apply this technique to asphalt wear. There is an example of stochastic optimization in the JMP Help Library but I am not well-versed enough in MVPO to gauge how similar/different it is to this example.

I'm curious to know if anyone in the SE community is familiar with this technique and/or has had any success implementing something similar in JMP.
