Scripting Without Being a Scripter - Virtual JMP DayThis session was delivered by Chris Kirchberg @chris_kirchberg on November 10th, 2020.
Description
- The JMP Scripting Language (JSL) will give you the tools you need to make using JMP even more productive. This topic covers saving scripts to journals and data tables, and combining scripts to automate repetitive actions.
Getting Started
- Use Save Script to save a report window analysis to a script window
- Create a parameterized application if the names of the columns change (but not the number of columns). This method uses the Application Builder.
Next Steps
- Dashboards are a good choice when the column number, function, and names don't change
- Journals are a good choice when organizing workflow and results and/or sharing with others
- Parameterized applications can be used if the name (but not number) of columns change (use of Application Builder)
Table Operations
- Scripts for table operations can be found under the Source table property in the newly created table
