[Announcement summary]
Statistical educators have long recognized the value of projects and case studies as a way to integrate multiple topics in a single lecture. Whether teaching beginners statistical inference or in-house training on analytical techniques, it is meaningful for learners to know that the analysis is done in a large process that follows a predictable workflow. .. In this presentation, we will show you how to support each stage of Airbnb list data analysis through a demo of the JMP project. Using journals, graph builders, query builders, and many other tools within the environment of a JMP project, learners will learn how to record a process. The process looks like this:
1. ask a question
2. Clarify the required data and analysis plan
3. Collect data
Four. Arrange the data
Five. Perform analysis
6. Tell a story
Teaching a reliable workflow can help learners begin to follow statistical thinking logic and develop good thinking habits. Without a description of workflow, a lecture on statistics would appear to be a series of methods that lacked relevance and motivation. When the learner embraces the perspective of the project workflow, the parts come together in an exciting way.
