I have a few similar but distinct scripts that run the same analysis but for slightly differently formatted raw data, depending on the machine the data is taken from.
I'd like to condense this into one script, which firsts asks the user to select the data type from a dropdown menu (i.e. "machine 1, machine 2, machine 3") and then carries out the correct version of the analysis.
My basic idea is to link the user input to a variable, datatype, and then have some nested if statements to say if datatype = machine 1...., if datatype = machine 2....
First of all, how do I go about making a dropdown menu appear. Secondly, how do I assign the selected value to a variable.
