Overlay Plot (Spec/ControlLimit horizons)NO SCRIPTING experience.
I have parameters which are very similar, and I prefer to use overlay plot to have them all nice and visual in one spot.
SO, I input my specs and control limits into my column properties...I was hoping that these would appear on my overlay plot...but they did not.
? Is there a way to use this overlay plot and have my specs and control limits be plotted as lines/horizons for me?
I am aware that when these column properties are in and I use the control chart builder...the spec limit horizon will appear (and I will get a 'within sigma' blue line based upon the CL I entered)
...BUT...the drawback, is I would need to build a separate control chart each time...the overlay plot is so convenient...and I already have control limits (im not trying to calculate them)...
Any ideas on how to streamline , or will i always have to manually enter them into overlay plots...or deal with building individual charts for each parameter separately?
Respectfully,
KDR
GraphicsRe: Overlay Plot (Spec/ControlLimit horizons)When you enter the spec limit property, make sure you check the 'Show as Graph Reference Lines' option. These reference lines will appear in an overlay plot in Graph Builder (or the legacy Overlay Plot platform) as long as you do not have more than one variable overlayed on the same axis. If you push one of the variables to the right axis (right click and select 'Move Right'), then the spec limit reference lines will appear.Re: Overlay Plot (Spec/ControlLimit horizons)It sounds like you might also be struggling with adding control limits and spec limits to the column property, frequently and manually.
There is a no-JSL method to do this simply.
To do this you will need a table with these columns
1. Parameter Name. These must match your column names in your data table exactly.
2. USL
3. LSL
4. UCL
5. LCL
Columns 2-5 could have other names but use these to start. Save it with an easy name like "Limits Table".
In both the the Capability and Control Chart Builder platforms there is an option to get limits from table.
After you get the limits, save the limits to column properties.
