Key Takeaways:
- Process and Product engineers will be the two personas who are the heaviest users of JMP, but they use JMP differently
- Accounts with large number of process engineers (semiconductor equipment, integrated devices manufacturers, and foundries) will be more DOE focused than accounts with few process engineers (fabless companies)
- Fabless companies have few, if any, process engineers and therefore will be less focused on DOE and more focused on characterization and test data analysis. Fabless Co.’s have many Product engineers who will rely more on JMP’s flexibility to handle their heavy ad hoc analysis needs (products engineers deal with high volumes of characterization and test data and will correlate to process data).
- Competitive tools in the semiconductor industry focus on near real-time automated reporting of very high volume fab process data and wafer/module/system test data. They are not as well suited for handling a wide array of analysis problems encountered in characterization data analysis. JMP’s flexibility wins here.
- JMP has two main advantages over semiconductor focused software: Cost and Functionality/Flexibility
