Seeking volunteer to share presentation tips with presenters in CopenhagenWe will be inviting all the breakout presenters in Copenhagen to join members of the steering committee to get some presentation tips become familiar with the presentation rooms. This meeting will be at 7:30 AM on Wednesday morning, in one of the breakout rooms. @kevin_lennon has volunteered to help host this meeting, we could like at least one more volunteer to help here. It's informal and is a last chance to help make sure we have the best conference possible.
If you're interested in helping here, please respond to this thread to let us know.
Thanks and I'm looking forward to seeing each one of you in Copenhagen.
Re: Seeking volunteer to share presentation tips with presenters in CopenhagenGood question. Yes. We will have one our room technicians there.
Re: Seeking volunteer to share presentation tips with presenters in CopenhagenWill there also be a technical person present to address possible concerns about mics, remote and so forth?
Re: Seeking volunteer to share presentation tips with presenters in CopenhagenThanks, @kevin_lennon, @elie_maricau and @gerd for volunteering. The meeting is at 7:30 AM in the Rosenborg room.
It will be good for all three of you to be there. As stated, the idea is just a session to help them get comfortable presenting at the conference.
The steering committee here in the US came up with these tips, some of which they passed along at their session before Discovery in the US. You can use as much or as little of this as you want.
Perhaps other on this committee can add some more in this thread.
- Spend time demoing JMP
- State what version of JMP is being used, and if using JMP Pro
- Provide audience with specific takeaways
- Don't use scripts to do all the stuff as that offers no learnings to people. Treat it almost like a cooking show ... show us the actual work you need to do and only use a script if you need that "out of the oven" speed to keep the presentation rolling.
- Restate questions that are asked for the audience to hear
- If using saved graphs, make sure the colors from the projector are similar to your computer screen
- Make sure fonts are readable on a large screen, not just on a computer screen
- Discuss what business decision was able to be made with the work that was done
- If using the microphone, make sure you're there a few minutes ahead to test out the sound
Thanks again for volunteering!

I can also help if needed. As Gerd already volunteered I am not sure my (additional) support is still required, so please let me know.
