Discovery Summit AmericasThe core team has been working around the clock to prepare for this week. The Steering Committee met last week to ask any final questions. And registration is closing in on 4,000.

We’re embarking upon our biggest Discovery Summit ever. And we need the help and support of all staff. Here’s how...
- If you want to check out the conference, sign in, upload a photo and update your profile right away. You should have an email invitation to join from Jeff Perkinson last week.
- Review the staffing document to see if you are scheduled. If you are, be early and do your best. The staffing document is here: https://community.jmp.com/t5/Americas-2020-Library/Staffing-Assignments-for-Discovery-Summit-Americas/ta-p/317435
- Before you attend any Discovery events, read the Info Desk page. You’ll find a very helpful QandA document as well as the event Code of Conduct. You may find this helpful for yourself, and you’ll certainly find it helpful as you help others find their way around the conference.
- If you’re not busy during the after-hours socials, Birds of a Feather or Meet the Developers sessions, please log on, look around and be a good host.
- Take photos Discovery happenings every day of the week. Better yet, have someone take a photo of you watching/presenting/interacting at Discovery. Label photos appropriately and put them in this folder. https://sasoffice365-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/diana_levey_jmp_com/Elio1Yi9vfxEs9iLfR_ITD0BldjFwntspVGVkyuuxNorAQ?e=sUBqyV
- If you become aware of something wrong – try to fix it. If you can’t fix it, send email to Discovery@jmp.com
- Please use the hashtag #JMPdiscoverysummit for all social media activities around Discovery.
- So that attendees can easily distinguish employees from guests, be sure to change your name on Zoom to be in this format. (First Last, JMP).
- Also so that staff are distinguishable from guests, staff should a virtual background designed for employees. They are here: https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Sales-and-Marketing-Library/JMP-Backdrops-for-virtual-meetings/ta-p/311548
- Take the JMP Live data point quarantine quiz. We want lots of data to play with: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSct424Uurq0JckUIHC7cv_O8OtrzxqKYJb26utmqrtJ80owgw/viewform
- We have offered free books to select attendees...early registrants and some VIPs. You, too, can offer a free book to an attendee who is really helpful, shows kindness or who is especially inquisitive about one of the keynotes. You can send them to www.jmp.com/hidden to request The Hidden Brain. Or send them to www.jmp.com/invisible to request Invisible Women.
- Unless you are asked to be on Zoom as a helper, all SAS employees should watch the plenary sessions from these live web links instead of through Zoom.
- If you received a JMP running or a cycling jersey in the last month or two, you’re expect to participate in Wednesday’s Fun Run or Thursday’s Bike Ride. Both use Strava, and details for both can be found in the Discovery Summit agenda.
- If you are actively working the conference, you are eligible to receive a very cool T-shirt. The form we were using to capture style and size preferences, however, has broken. We will figure this out next week.
- In case you missed the pre-conference staff meeting, or would like to re-watch it, you’ll find the recording at this Zoom Link
- If you have questions that have not been answered here, post your queries below. That way others can learn from what you asked.
As Global Customer Care Director Jeff Perkinson says in all of our pre-event staff meetings, "Be a good host." The online format brings new challenges, but it also brings new opportunities. Among them is the chance to show the world that we are awesome hosts.

Re: Discovery Summit AmericasIf anyone tries to email Discovery@jmp.com, you might have a problem with Outlook telling you the address is invalid. To save you an extra step:
How to Fix It
|
To stop your email program from using outdated address information, clear the recipient Auto-Complete List in Outlook or Outlook on the web by following the steps in this article, or by doing the following:
|
· Identify the recipient who didn't receive your message by looking at the To or CC information located in the Original Message Headers section below. Recipients whose names are followed by a set of characters that start with 'IMCEAEX' or 'imceaex' didn't receive your message.
· Click New mail (in Outlook) or New Email (in Outlook on the web).
· In the To box, start typing the recipient's name or email address until the recipient's name appears in the drop-down list.
· Use the Down Arrow and Up Arrow keys to select the recipient, and then press the Delete key to delete the Auto-Complete List entry.
· In the To box retype the recipient's email address and then resend the message.

Re: Discovery Summit AmericasPlease remember we are asking ALL JMP employees to take a few minutes to complete EACH days survey for the JMP Live Data Point. Want to make sure we have a good amount of data to be shared on JMP Public. You can find links to all surveys here.
If you are JMP savvy, we are also asking folks to download the data (which is also posted here) to create and publish their own data visualizations to JMP Public.
Thanks for any and all support!
