Hi Larry, thank you so much for putting these together! They really are a huge time saver and very helpful for us and our customers. Would it be possible to link to the Salesforce campaign somewhere on this page too?
YES!!! That is an excellent idea @briana_bishop0. We're adding the Inside JMP story link to the Salesforce campaign record... we should TOTALLY go the other way and add the campaign link into these stories. I'll will add the campaign link to this story ASAP (and go back and add links to the other stories w/post-sales follow up suggestions shortly thereafter). Thank you for the awesome suggestion!
More than 1,500 individuals registered for the October 8 Statistically Speaking (Europe) event, How Design of Experiments Can Transform the Way We Innovate. To help JMP sales team engage in more meaningful and productive post-event conversations with customers and prospects, we’ve created the following list of recommended resources to position after the event has concluded. This list pulls appropriate assets from across our web site, including white papers, articles, book chapters, webinars, JMP On Air episodes, blogs, STIPS modules and more. Any asset that makes a list is considered relevant to the topic, application area or industry, performs well and is recent enough to share. To help distinguish between resources, we also include a short summary, a few words of commentary and a 4-star system to identify the "best of the best." (You can also find all past resource recommendations here.)
If you have any questions about recommendations related to this event, please feel free to contact Nina Chan, Carla Paquet or Larry LaRusso.

October 8, How Design of Experiments Can Transform the Way We Innovate
CTA shared with attendees as potential next steps.
4 Stars Optimizing Processes with Design of Experiments, White Paper
This white paper is the most popular (views/day) asset we have in Resource Center and the best at generating registrations in Salesforce. It includes a really good, high-level discussion of DOE and the benefits it can bring any company.
4 Stars The power of structured experimentation in science and engineering, Statistically Speaking
This resource is more advanced and higher level, but is a high-quality production, as part of the Statistically Speaking series. It also includes a keynote from Peter Goos, who discusses benefits of DOE by talking about the weaknesses of one-factor-at-a-time experimentation, the features of a properly designed experiment and success stories from companies that have applied DOE in combination with statistical techniques. The panel includes strong companies and good speakers from Microsoft, Riffyn and Corning. Brad Jones also is on the panel.
4 Stars Prolific Author on Split-Plot and Optimal DOE Shares Insights, Analytically Speaking
Another resource from the keynote speaker for this event. Peter Goos talks about about the importance of DOE and provides real-life examples of DOE in a variety of industries. He spends time discussing split-plot designs and the power of various statistical tests. He also spends time discussing the importance of expanding statistical knowledge, and the rewards of collaborating with scientist and engineers in a variety of industry.
4 Stars The JMP Design of Experiments Advantage, White Paper
This is the 5th most popular (view/day) asset in the Resource Center and the 2nd best at registrations in Salesforce. This is a little more advanced of a resource that takes a different angle, advancing the idea of using custom designs. It also highlights how well JMP does DOE to “tailor the design to the problem,” and explore multifactor opportunities that exist in almost all real-world situations.
3 Stars Optimal DOE: A Case Study Approach: Chapter 7, Book Chapter
This is a chapter from Peter Goos’ book (co-authored with Brad Jones) Optimal Design of Experiments: A Case Study Approach. This is a strong resource that uses case studies to show how to make a design match the process or system under study using available resources – and still optimize the information obtained from the experiment. It is a little older, 2011.
3 Stars Optimizing Your Process With Design of Experiments, Tech Speaking Event
3rd most popular (views/day) and 3rd most popular at generating registrations in Salesforce. Strong webinar, talks about how to use DOE to deliver hard to manufacture products. Good case study.
3 Stars Mastering Complex Processes with Design of Experiments, Chemistry World Webinar
This webinar features Egon Gross from Symrise and Florian Vogt from JMP. The seminar outlines how Symrise uses Design of Experiments and visualization in JMP to improve process understanding and to arrive at the right product formulation earlier. Shows Definitive Screening Designs in JMP in action.
3 Stars Cautionary Tales in Designed Experiments, full length e-book
This book is long, but it does a great job of explaining the basics of statistical design of experiments. A bit of a history lesson at times, historical examples of early DOE. The second half of the book covers more statistical concepts, such as various designs for experiments, analysis of variance, Bayes’ theorem in DOE, measurement, and when experiments fail. The book concludes by citing the ubiquity of statistical design of experiments.
2 Stars JMP On-Air Doctor DOE series, JOA videos in the JMP Community
This is a series of 5 or 6 20-minute segments that tackle topics related to DOE. Various JMP presenters including Brad Jones. More specific topics, but more focused discussions. Also shows our breadth of DOE experts and humanizes our business a bit with these more casual discussions.
2 Stars Statisticians help secure a competitive edge in manufacturing, Customer Success Story, Highlights W.L Gore in Germany. Great example of how the company uses DOE to improve their products, so the topic is very relevant. Not great depth.
