<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Hello,
I received a question from a person at SAS Korea, but I have no information about the products from the TYPE System Corporation.
Please let me know if you have any information.
Hi Kyoko,
I’ve got an inquiry from SAS Korea Account
team who is proposing JMP + PQA to Amkor (oppty#3259018) but the customer is
reviewing another solution called EDA from TYNE (seem-to-be our competitor), a
Taiwanese company. The customer is asking us what’s our differentiator to this
product but we don’t have much information about this company/product. Since it
seems to be a competitor to JMP, I thought your team might have some insight
about this company – have you heard of this company? Do you think this company
can be a threat to us?
Here’s the link of this company:

Thanks for your help!

Martin-san,
Thank you very much for your reponse! I will let the person at SAS Korea know what I learned from you.

Hi Kyoko-san,
From what I've seen on their web page they have some good Features for analyzing Wafers and other production data.
I have not heard before but this would be my summary from what I've read about the pro's and con's:
That's good (and maybe better depending on the customer)
* Web based design, and I guess an related license model (concurrent), which provides Access from almost everywhere.
* in General a good set of functionalities, but...
There are good arguments for JMP:
* JMP has more functionalities, for Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, Development, Marketing and others all in one tool
* JMP has all the graphics too, but in addition is interactive! That's the best Argument. You could select in your Graphs and see the appropriate values in other reports.
* You have all the statistics with the Graphs, e.g. Distribution, multivariate Analysis, ANOVA, Decision Trees, so you can compare way better different analysis'
* Regarding data Import , data Management, checking and handling missing data it is at Minimum comparable if not better
* For maximizing yield you have all the modeling functionalities, including Profiler to interactively do what-if scenarios, maximize desireability and simulate with given specs the proportion outside specs for yield and if necessary multiple responses.
* Not sure but you could ask, can this tool interactively step Forward and back and constrain the creation for the decision tree? That's what you could do.
* And if you want to propose JMP Pro, you have all the modelling functionalities to be used for root cause analyses like bootstrap forest, generalized Regression and informative missing (to handle missing data without the need to go through the data manually)
This is just a first view from someone who does not know the EDA tool but looked at their web page and read through the functionalities.
So, it is a competitor in a Special field, but yes, we can compete here very well without doubt.
Hope this helps,
Martin
