Today, we feature Sr. Systems Engineer @martindemel (Martin Demel). Martin has been with JMP since 2012. He supports all German-speaking countries with technical knowledge and consulting, helping customers and prospects alike solve their analytical challenges.
In addition to his technical expertise, though, Martin is a pretty interesting individual. He enjoys playing table tennis, reading, listening to music and dancing, and spending time with his “better half” and two girls.

Where were you born?
I was born in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
What was your first job?
Part time vendor for Hofpfisterei a famous South German ecologically/biological bakery. I was there for 10 years starting at age 16.
In one word, what's the best thing about your current job?
Teamwork
List three of your favorite hobbies:
Table Tennis (not ping pong 
), dancing, and laughing.
Describe yourself in three words.
Open, humorous, and supportive.
What book are you reading?
Death Does Not Go Wrong by Jörg Maurer. (It’s a German alpine thriller.)
What is your favorite movie genre? 
Difficult, maybe impossible, to choose between Fantasy/SciFi and Action.
What is the first web page you go to when you start work?

If you could have a dinner party with five famous people, who would they be?
Hannes Jaenicke (an actor heavily supporting nature and animal protection), Dalai Lama, Matt Damon (an actor supporting environment protection), Prince Harry, Bud Spencer (if he was still living).
What is your favorite podcast to listen to?
I really don’t listen to podcasts
Name one JMP-related achievement that you're proud of. 
The relationship I have developed with our customer Lonza
Name one thing most of your colleagues would be surprised to know.
Knowing Oktoberfest both as visitor (what a surprise!) and employee (for three years).
Name one other person in the division who you admire and describe why.
Chris Gotwalt and his team! They provide high value to our staff and customers and are customer driven in R&D.
