SMEC (24 Jul 2020 – China East T1)
Semiconductor Manufacturing Electronics (ShaoXing) Corporation (SMEC), which provides foundry services for wafer and module packaging, recently added 15 JMP licenses to its existing 25.
Iris Yuan says that SMEC first acquired JMP, used by its process engineers (PE), in July 2019. “After that initial adoption, we provided two JMP Days to the PE team at SMEC, which covered general function introduction and getting started with JMP.
“We also invited SMEC’s heads of product development and IT to an in-person event early this year in Shanghai. At this event, we gathered decision makers from industry, government and academia so they could exchange best practices and experiment with both new and proven statistical techniques. The head of product development at SMEC said that he was impressed with the presentation, Data Analytics Helps Reshape Business. This event gave us the chance to work more closely with SMEC, where we learned they plan to use JMP for Six Sigma training later in 2020.”

Antaios (07 Sep 2020 – France)
Antaios, which develops a disruptive memory technology based upon the spin-orbit torque (SOT) phenomenon, recently acquired four JMP licenses.
France-based Antaios plans on licensing its technology to semiconductor chip manufacturers, helping them solve the critical issue of power requests for advanced computing used in PCs, servers, smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.
Agathe De Vreese says, “At the end of July, I prospected semiconductor-related companies on LinkedIn. I found the R&D manager of Antaios, who also happens to be one its founders. It took him nearly a month to respond, but he was interested. After a quick call, I qualified Antaios’ needs and planned a demo. I then recruited Emmanuel Romeu, who joined JMP six months ago and had never done a semiconductor presentation, to put the demo together. Emmanuel turned to Florence Kussener for guidance. He then did his homework and anticipated Antaios’ needs. The presentation was a success, and two days later, Antaios bought four JMP licenses. Great teamwork!”
