Select where Stacked Data created columns get locatedWhen I create a stacked set of data, I have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the columns to move it to the desired location (usually close to the top). It would be a nice option to have a choice where we want that data to be placed to eliminate having to scroll and find it.
User InterfaceRe: Select where Stacked Data created columns get located - Status changed to: In DevelopmentRe: Select where Stacked Data created columns get locatedHi all - this is a great idea, and we already have a UI for this sort of thing in other places in JMP. The developer was easily able to add this UI piece to the Tables->Stack dialog, and i've seen it working in the latest version of JMP (JMP 16).
Jeff's suggestion of the Reorder Columns dialog is a good option in the meantime.
Re: Select where Stacked Data created columns get located
Thanks for adding this to the 'vote' section! Also, you used to be able to right click in JMP12 and reorder columns, but this functionality has been removed. That made it a tad bit easier to scroll then move to selected columns. Ultimately, if added as requested into the stack UI, it would place it directly where desired, so it would be a moot issue for the JMP 12 former method..
Re: Select where Stacked Data created columns get located - Status changed to: Open for VotingI see what you're talking about now. I'll make sure the developer gets the request. In the meantime, I may be able to save you a bit of scrolling. After selecting the columns, instead of dragging them to rearrange, go to Cols->Reorder Columns->Move Selected Columns... to move them more easily.
Re: Select where Stacked Data created columns get located
Jeff: Here is what I'm discussing. There is no option I see in the stack UI to state 'place 1st' or some other option to allow this to be stacked close to the original column order.
Re: Select where Stacked Data created columns get locatedHi Mjafari: First, I honestly have no idea how to code this in. I'm at a pull and manipulate state. I'd like to not have to grab the columns and drag them where i want.
Re: Select where Stacked Data created columns get locatedYou can use the follwing lines in the jsl to do select and move the columns:
Column( "ColNameToMove" ) << Set Selected( 1 );
dt << Move Selected Column( after( "ColNameNewLoc" ) );
Re: Select where Stacked Data created columns get located - Status changed to: Needs InfoAre you referring to Tables->Stack to stack two or more columns into a single column?
Can you give an example using of of the data table in the Sample Data Library so we can understand what you're looking for?
