JMP Clinical Video - Architectural Overview
Chris Kirchberg gives a
10 minute architectural overview of JMP Clinical
highlighting the most commonly used reports and features. This video can be used to show (*not send) prospects/customers what options are available in JMP Clinical to then use the checklist on the
JMP Clinical Resources page
to select which reports should then be reviewed during the demo. Thanks again to Malcolm Stevens who shared how he and his team use this during the
JMP Clinical training
that was held in July.

Internal Wish List Update
Thanks to everyone who has shared ideas for new features in JMP 17 on the
Internal Wish List

Minitab Training Notes, Recording, and Update from Kevin
A HUGE thank you to Anne Milley, Kevin Poctner and Bernard McKeown for sharing their insight around key differentiators between Minitab and JMP. Some key takeaways from this week's Minitab competitor training:
-
JMP R&D Development is much more forward looking and current.
-
"JMP is on the current edge of data science, where Minitab is not."
-
Support & Resources JMP makes available far exceeds that of Minitab.
-
"JMP has the deep technical, industry expertise needed to understand core business needs."
-
"JMP has a huge amount of FREE resources available - webcasts, whitepapers, STIPS, SKP, community - JMP is not just software, but software AND support".
-
Question to ask "What is the value of having access to JMP's level of FREE training and support?"
-
Minitab does not have the capability to perform analyses at the scale and speed of JMP.
If you were not able to make the Minitab training, please note that we have the recording and notes are posted
here

**UPDATE FROM KEVIN
Clarifying something I said in my JMP vs. Minitab presentation as I think I may have given an inaccurate description of the Salford Predictive Modeler Software (SPM).
At one point I was paralleling the Minitab/Salford relationship to JMP/SAS. It was not intended as a product-to-product comparison at all, but the relationships are analogous in the sense that it’s two different software platforms under the same company umbrella. But there is really no integration between MTB & SPM whereas we do have integration between JMP & SAS and collectively have been leading statistical software development for decades. Concerned I may have inadvertently given the impression that it takes SAS’s products to compete against the tools in SPM. NOT AT ALL!
SPM has some of the modern predictive modeling tools (CART, Random Forest, etc.). But nothing beyond what JMP Pro can do. And evaluated as a complete statistical software package, SPM is not even close to JMP Pro… or standard JMP for that matter. SPM is actually quite dated and clunky, developed years ago by a very small company with almost no general statistical tools built into it. So don’t worry about having a potential customer mention that they are using Minitab + SPM together. JMP + JMP Pro is far superior.
You can see an overview of SPM’s few capabilities here:
https://www.minitab.com/en-us/products/spm/
Bottom line… SPM is really nothing to worry about!
Did you know that you can publish from JMP or JMP Pro 15.2 to JMP Live 15.1?
The changes between 15.1 and 15.2 don’t have an impact on how JMP communicates with JMP Live, therefore publishing from one version to the other works fine. Though the changes between 15.0 and these 2 versions are more significant which is why publishing from JMP or JMP Pro 15.0 to JMP Live 15.1/2 does not work. But you can publish from JMP/ JMP Pro 15.1/2 to JMP Live 15.0.
