Converting character to Date format

Question

Hello Jmpers,

I have a column of Dates in a character format and I need to convert it to Date format, I tried this:

You must edit the text into a valid date format before converting to numeric. Otherwise JMP won't recognize it as a date and give a missing value.

It works for me if I have text like "14/3/2011 08:15:00". The Munger-script converts it to "14-3-2011 08.15.00" which is one of JMP's supported time formats.

Or did I misunderstand something about how your dates are formatted?

When i type this code in gives me NULL values since it is a character
